Louise's background

Louise grew up in the Black Market. Once he was adopted by Oguma, Louis found out that he was being raised in order to be eaten by carnivores. The thought that all his friends (which were basically his family) had been killed by carnivores bugs him a lot. Carnivores are stronger. Louis resents the fact that carnivores are naturally stronger than herbivores. This is shown in the infamous 'bite me' scene, where Louis freaks out that Legoshi wont express himself in the demonic image that Louis has painted all carnivores to be. Louis is upset that he can easily be over powered by carnivores no matter how hard he trains. He said that in a cynical manner. Louis knows that he can tease carnivores all he wants to because they cant fight back without being accused of predation Well yes but I thought that in the manga Louis said: " I like carnivores" but I guess I read it wrong

I agree with you mostly, but I will play the Devil’s advocate here since thats sort of my unpaid job as a blogger. Legosi and Louis WERE the Beastars. Brawn and brain, courage and will, warrior and leader, two very different animals who joined together to fight for a better world. Legosi even said they could be the Beastars to which Louis called him stupid for making up a new title. During the turf was, when Louis came to show his support, him and Legosi were dubbed the Beastars. And they did do what a Beastar is suppose to do, fight evil an inspire others to create a better tomorrow. But yeah, plenty of missed opportunities. BUT this was Paru’s first big project, so we could not expect it to be perfect

You know, the way Louis planned on killing himself is so arrogant, so self pitying, so utterly messed up that it is poetic. Louis feels awful about being so pathetic that he did not want to save Haru, and he feels worse when Legosi does so since it both makes him aware of how noble and honest the wolf is and how shallow and weak he is. Something that hurts even more when he already has a prey complex. So he follows Legosi as he and Gouhin beats the shit out of the lion mafia and saves Haru. He doesn’t join the fight since he feels too weak and honor-less to do so. He only interferes when Legosi and Haru are leaving and doesn’t see him. When the Lion Boss is about to take a shot at the wolf who showed him mercy despite everything. This might seem like a self-less act from the deer. And it might be to some degree. But it is mostly an act of ego and self loathing.

Louis is a VERY gay deer with an intense carnivore kink

He declares himself by his “true” name, live-stock number 4, a simple product for others to eat. And he actually demands that that they eat him gratefully. Even when he gives himself up, Louis is arrogant and orders others to enjoy eating him. So... Louis does a good deed, but does it in secret which is ironic since his whole life has been about gaining glory. He then lives out the ultimate power fantasy of a person with low self esteem. And he then LITERALLY throws himself to the lions in the most self-absorbed way possible. Ladies and gentlemen... this is the ultimate douche-bag suicide.

buki is a surprising noble beast when you consider the fact that he is not just a criminal, but he is a member of the Shishigumi, or the Lion Mafia as I prefer to call them. They are one of the major criminal organizations in the Back-Alley Marked. Who would have believed that a violent thug like Ibuki the Lion would be the male who saved Louis from himself? Louis was not exactly a sentimental animal as such. If someone tried to be kind to him, he would consider it pity of some sort, something he would not accept at all. So it was a good thing that Ibuki was not sentimental at all the first time they met. Ibuki saw potential in the young stag. The kid had just killed the Lion Mafia’s boss whom Ibuki hated since he had alienated the gang from most of the criminals in the black marked by being TOO wild and violent. Knowing that Louis was a famous honor student whom newspapers called an inspiration for the future, he was the one who suggested that the lions shouldn’t eat him. In fact, they should make him the new boss of the Lion Mafia. And that was a brilliant idea. Everything that made Louis the uncrowned king of Cherryton Academy was what made him an amazing criminal leader.

Like Louis, he was a slave, meant to be eaten. There is a shop in the back-alley marked that sells fake drugs made out of carnivores that herbivores eat since the want the strong spirit of meat eaters. Ibuki was sold by his parents so they could get rid of their dept. But he got away from slavery like Louis. Revealing this to Louis made them close like brothers, possibly like a father and a son. Heck, Ibuki even consider if he should try and introduce Louis to a nice female(such a dad move!). But that makes his fate that much more tragic. Ibuki’s friendship made Louis feel better in the company of carnivores. In fact, he realizes that he downright likes them. And that made him realize that Legosi is his friend, and he would hate it if he died. So he tells Ibuki that he has to leave the gang, and he is aware that it means that he can’t return. So like the pseudo father he is, he takes the harsh duty of kicking his baby bird out of the nest... to the extreme! Ibuki might seem like a nice enough guy, but he is a mobster. Not only that, he is a meat eater. And his favorite kind of meat so happens to be deer. He has controlled himself the six months he has known Louis, but him leaving the gang makes him so frustrated that he can barely control himself.
